Harvey 'The Dog Mentor'

Meet Harvey, our school dog. He joined Central Primary School in Autumn term 2025. Harvey is a Maltipoo and his birthday is 31st April 2023.

Harvey is a beloved member of the school community, he even has his own school jumper; he completed his training with the Dog Mentor Programme in November 2025 and is qualified as a ‘Dog Mentor’. He has achieved his Bronze and Silver awards and is now working towards his Gold award. 

We are slowly introducing Harvey to our school community and ensuring our children and classes are ‘Harvey ready’. Soon, Harvey will be reading with our children, supporting them with managing their emotions and working with them in interventions. 

Mrs Goman and Mrs McHenry have completed their training as Dog Mentors and are the main adults, alongside Mrs Wright, who will be working with Harvey and our children. Please speak to them if you have any questions.
