In the last Monday Assembly pupils had a chance to discuss the Lunchtime rules. They were presented with a talking task in their groups and they were asked to rank six lunchtime rules in the order of importance. The pupils had to use their oracy skills to justify their reasons for claiming one rule more important than other.
Pupils were engaged in very important conversations in their groups and came up with excellent reasons why one rule was more important than another.
At the end of the assembly, all the groups shared their rules and we had a discussion together about the similarities and differences in the sets of rules that the groups had come up with.
It is exciting to see how confident our pupils are becoming in sharing their opinions and respectfully disagreeing with each other in the discussion.
