“Here we are” – Returning to school together

Next Monday 8th March, we will all return back to school. What an exciting and somewhat scary day that might be.

But there’s nothing to worry, since the staff at Central have been working hard in the past few weeks, to make sure that returning to the classroom feels safe and fun.

Like we did in the first week of September, next week as well, we will bring our whole school community together with the help of a book. Next week we will immerse ourselves in a beautifully illustrated picture book by Oliver Jeffers, called “Here we are”. What a fantastic title to get us talking about returning to school. and being there together. The key themes in the book are kindness, acceptance and caring for the planet, which all are important themes for us to explore together.

For the first three days, all pupils at Central Primary, from Nursery to Year 6 will be reading and exploring this wonderful book. We’ve planned some amazing creative activities  as well as oracy and writing activities around the themes of the book to ease us back into working together as a team in school.

We are excited to see you all back next Monday!
