Here we are – Learning at school again

This Monday all of our pupils returned to school with us! The teachers had been planning for the return for a few weeks and had brilliant activities planned for the children this week.

On Monday, every class spent time exploring the lovely picture book by Oliver Jeffers called “Here we are”. The pupils were encourage to join into a discussion about the theme and illustrations of the wonderful book and to rehearse their oracy skills from the very first morning. The story took us on a journey through volcanoes and oceans and reminded us that we are here together, taking care of each other and the planet.

In the first three days, all the children across the school were involved in similar activities, like writing about special things, or a letter to a special person, and drawing their own self-portrait.

The staff have been very impressed with the children’s motivation and enthusiasm with all the activities.
