Farewell from Miss Paalanen
It has come my time to say thank you and goodbye to all of you. I’ve had the most unforgettable journey at Central Primary.
The front page of our school website has the word “welcome” written in 11 different languages. One of them is Finnish, my mother tongue, which I noticed when I first applied to be a Year 1 teacher in the school. Whether it was a coincidence or fate, I’ve definitely felt welcome in our amazing school community since my first day.
During my years at Central, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in Year 1 and Year 5. I took on the role of the Deputy Headteacher with pride, and last year I led the school as the Acting Headteacher for two terms. Every step of the way I’ve been proud to be working in this school community.
I have got countless memories to take with me when I now leave to move to Cambridgeshire.
From the amazing trips we went on, to the brilliant showcases we organised. From the happy encounters on school gates to the fascinating conversations in class with our brilliant pupils. The years have been filled with joy, passion for learning and proud moments.
Although our school slogan talks about children being Central, for me the whole school community really is central. I have taught some wonderful children, I’ve worked with talented people, I’ve met incredible parents and carers. Every single person in our school community has a special place in my heart.
When the school continues on it’s wonderful journey, I want to say thank you to you all and wish you all the best in the future.
I wish that the school continues to be as welcoming to all of you, as it was for me.
