The children have settled back into their routines very quickly and are confidently managing the transition between Forest Class and their mainstream year groups.
In English, we have been exploring a range of text types including non-chronological reports and narratives. We have been really impressed by the children’s use of strategies to learn new vocabulary and their attempts to use these words in their talking and writing.
After we revisited basic punctuation, we challenged ourselves to learn about direct speech. After lots of practice, everyone was able to include dialogue in their versions of ‘Room on the Broom’ and tried their best to remember our punctuation rules.
In Maths, we have worked hard to extend our place value knowledge and used this to complete addition and subtraction calculations. We have also continued to work on our personalised programme of times tables in order to develop our fluency with multiplication facts.
