Every November schools across the country take part in Anti-Bullying Week. This is an opportunity to put a spotlight on bullying and consider the steps we can take together to stop it. Anti-Bullying Week 2020 is taking place from Monday 16th to Friday 20th November this year and it has the theme ‘United Against Bullying’.
We are very lucky this year to have a personal shout out from the Anti-Bullying Alliance Charity patron Andy Day. Andy was very impressed with what we have planned to mark the week and looks forward to hearing all about the learning we have completed next week. We will be marking the start of the week by taking part in the ‘Odd Socks Day’. Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!
As a parent or carer, you are a vital piece of the puzzle in tackling bullying. You have a unique role to play in guiding and supporting your child through their school years and there are lots of positive steps you can take to help keep your child safe from bullying and harm. One of the steps is knowing when to ask for support from either the school if you have concerns, or from organisations such as Kidscape.
As a school community, we are fully committed to unite against bullying and ensure Central remains a place full of kindness, open-mindedness, acceptance and hope.
